Shrines Crop Up For Heath

Fans have started putting up shrines and memorials for Heath Ledger in front of his NY apartment in SoHo. Besides the throngs of press that huddled last night, there were many fans who stood around just to get a last glimpse of Heath’s body or to find out more details of his passing. Michelle Williams, Heath’s ex-fiancee and mother of his child, is supposed to be arriving in NY from Sweden today. Her mother is already in Brooklyn to lend her support. As expected, they have all kept mum about Heath’s untimely passing. Another person who might be lending his support to Michelle is Jake Gyllenhaal, who was one of Heath’s best friends and is godfather to Matilda. I’ll post more udpates as they come.
Heath Ledger’s Autopsy Reports Inconclusive

The medical examiner’s office working on Heath Ledger’s autopsy announced today that the initial reports are inconclusive. More tests will be needed and a spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office stated that it will take at least 10 days to complete the investigation. Ledger was found dead yesterday in his NY apartment and many assumptions were offered yesterday as to the cause of his death. Since sleeping pills were found near his body, some assumed that it could’ve been suicide or drug-related, but there’s not enough information to support either theory. We’ll have to wait the 10 days to get more information on what actually happened to Heath. Many of his fellow actors and fans are reeling from his death. Some fans have already set up shrines in front of his apartment building in New York. I’ll definitely keep y’all posted regarding any updates. For now, all we can do is wish his family well.
Updates On Heath Ledger’s Death

There have been a lot of updates since news broke this afternoon of Heath Ledger’s sudden death. As of 6:30 pm EST his body was taken by the City of New York Medical Examiner, as you can see in the picture above. His autopsy will be completed by tomorrow afternoon, officials announced. I just wanted to clear up and repeat some of the information I’ve found out since my last posting. First off, it’s been confirmed that the apartment where Heath was found is not Mary Kate Olsen’s, as originally reported. Sleeping pills, both prescriped and over the counter, were found around his body. Here are NYPD Commisioner Paul Browne’s exact statement: “There were some (pills) still left in the bottle. They were not scattered around the apartment. The room was not in disarray. (And) there were no apparent signs of foul play.”
There have also been reports that his death was caused by suicide, but TMZ is reporting that Heath’s family is very upset about this rumor and completely deny that suicide had a role in his death. This is all so tragic and I really feel for his 2 year old daughter, Matilda. Michelle Williams is said to be on her way to New York City right now and I’m sure she must be devastated about all of this. Please stay tuned to get more info on this sad event. Heath Ledger Dead At 28

Update: It was originally reported that the apartment Heath Ledger was in when he died is owned by Mary Kate Olsen, but NYPD now confirms that this is untrue. It’s also noted that the pills found around Heath were prescription medicine, possibly sleeping pills. An autopsy is scheduled tomorrow. Stay tuned for more updates.
This is very shocking and sad news. Heath Ledger was found dead today at age 28. He was found by his housekeeper in his Manhattan apartment. MSNBC reported that Heath had a massage appointment scheduled this afternoon at his apartment. The masseuse arrived for the appointment and when Heath’s housekeeper looked for him, she found him dead in his room. It’s being reported that there were pills around the Brokeback Mountain star when he was found. It’s being noted that his death could be drug-related, but examiners have not confirmed this. Heath ended his relationship with Michelle Williams last August, whom he had two year-old daughter Matilda with. Heath just finished filming The Dark Knight, another big-budget superhero film based on Batman where he plays the Joker. The movie was set to release this summer. It is definitely a sad day for the movie industry. Our sincerest condolences to Heath Ledger’s family and friends.
