Papa Needs An Allowance, Too

It takes a lot of work to take care of a troubled pop star, even if it is your own child. Jamie Spears has done a great job of taking care of Britney the last few months and he’s getting what’s due to him. Jamie had to give up his catering job to oversee Brit’s affairs. Since Brit’s January hospitalization, Jamie has been staying with the singer to make sure all is okay. And what a job he’s done. People.com is reporting that he will be getting $10,000 in back payment for his work up until now. He is also getting $2,500/week for his 24-hour a day assistance. I don’t think anyone will argue that this is one of the best things Brit’s ever spent her money on.
Going Out Without Brit

I’m sure Britney needs some time to herself, so she cherishes it when her parents are out of her hair. Our photog spotted Jamie doing a little grocery shopping at Ralph’s this weekend and Lynne enjoying a solo Starbucks run. I guess we know where Brit gets her favorite spots from. Britney’s been doing very well since Jamie’s taken over her affairs. I’m sure it’s made the father and daughter much closer, too. Aww, sweet. Just in time for Father’s Day next month. So, while Brit’s working out at Bally’s, this is what her parents do on their spare time.

It might have something to do with the fact that she’ll have to shell out for ex Kevin’s legal fees, thus we’re now finding out that Brit’s dad got permission to sell some of her automobiles. Britney currently owns nine cars and it’s unclear which ones will be sold. At today’s conservators’ hearing, Commissioner Goetz gave the go-ahead for Jamie and co-conservator Andrew Wallet to sell some of her cars. I’m still amused that the other conservator’s name is Wallet, but I digress. What else happened at the hearing? Sam Lutfi’s restraining order has been extended until April 16. Sam hasn’t been seen or heard from in a while, so it’s good he’s staying away. More Brit news as they come, folks.
Jamie Spears And K-Fed In Court

Brit’s dad Jamie Spears and ex Kevin Federline are in court today regarding legal fees Britney has to pay for the custody battle. The court has ruled before that Britney has to pay for Kevin’s legal fees. I guess the last bill Mark Vincent Kaplan sent to Brit was for over $500,000. No, that’s not a typo. Brit’s new custody attorney, Stacy Phillips, is arguing they are charging way too much. She is also going to dispute a previous bill of $600,000 from Trope & Trope, Brit’s previous attorney/firm. Kevin and Jamie actually went golfing this weekend together, so they’re probably just chatting at the court lobby and talking about handicaps. At any rate, we’ll give you more updates as they come.
Dad Spears’ Conservatorship Extended

Britney’s going to be spending a lot of time with her daddy until summertime. Jamie Spears’ conservatorship has been extended until July 31st, reports Eonline.com. Per court order, Jamie was also allowed to get a weekly stipend and lease a car. L.A. Superior Court Commisioner Reva Goetz held an impromptu hearing regarding the conservatorship yesterday. Brit’s been doing well under her dad’s car and has gotten to see her sons a few times since. It might be a good idea for him to stick around a bit longer to make sure she’s well for the long run. Although she disagreed with the ruling before, it’s been noted that Brit’s getting along with her dad now and she’s getting used to the situation.
