Salma Celebrates
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009That overhyped Speidi wedding may have to take a backseat to the real nuptial event of the weekend.
E! reports that Salma Hayek and husband François-Henri Pinault, who were officially wed in Paris on Valentine’s Day, are planning a belated wedding celebration this weekend in Italy.
Pals, including including Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, have already started arriving in Venice for the bash, which is expected to be bigger than the couple’s very private wedding. The pair have a one-year-old daughter, Valentina Paloma.
Since the groom’s company runs Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, we can’t wait to see the guests’ goodie bags.

Javier’s Got It Locked
Friday, February 22nd, 2008
I can’t believe this smiling, sexy man is the villain in No Country For Old Men. Have y’all seen the movie? I just saw it last night (bad bootleg copies suck, by the way) and I was so amazed with Javier Bardem’s portrayal of Anton Chigurh, the bad guy. Except he was more than a bad guy. I can deal with films like the Saw series and all the Freddy Krueger movies, because even though they’re scary while you’re watching them, things go back to normal after. But not with No Country – or am I alone in this? I was freaked out by Javier’s character because he really seemed like the devil reincarnated, and I still thought about the movie after it ended. Chilling. He’s one of the best villains ever. Javier’s winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, I’m sure of it. We’ll all get to find out on Sunday night at 8pm on ABC.

How About A Movie?
Friday, November 23rd, 2007
Feel like taking a break from annoying family members and leftover turkey soup? How about a good movie? One of our favorite international hotties, Javier Bardem, is starring in No Country For Old Men with Tommy Lee Jones, opening today. Also out today are Enchanted with Patrick Dempsey (in a fairy tale romantic comedy from the Disney folks), Stephen King’s The Mist and Tyler Perry’s This Christmas. Of course, Angelina Jolie’s #1 movie last week, Beowulf is still in theaters and will probably have another spectacular weekend. Whatever movie you choose to entangle with, just remember to bring your patience and holiday cheer for those long lines.

Love In The Time With Javier Bardem
Thursday, November 15th, 2007
International star Javier Bardem left our lovely city yesterday and headed back home to Spain. He is currently headlining the adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Love In The Time of Cholera. Marquez’s books are very hard to adapt into the big screen, but I know many of the iconic writer’s fans have been waiting for this particular novel to grace the movie stage. Besides, Javier Bardem is one of the most celebrated actors internationally, becoming the first Spanish actor to receive an Oscar nomination, so I’m sure he put his heart and soul into this particular role. He has also been linked to beautiful Penelope Cruz as of late, so we’ll definitely post updates on their supposed love affair when we get them. For now, you will all just have to enjoy these pictures of the handsome Senor Bardem at LAX’s Tom Bradley International, as he headed back home.
