A grieving Jessica Simpson has finally broken her silence about losing her beloved Maltipoo, Daisy, who was snatched by a coyote last month.

At a QVC event in NYC, Jess told US magazine, “I hold her memory very, very close. It was an unfortunate thing what happened. That I don’t have her every day… It’s a very hard thing to talk about.” The singer is open to bringing a new pup into her life. “I haven’t really thought about another dog yet, but maybe sometime. [Daisy] would want that.”

Jessica was totally devoted to Daisy and pampered her like crazy, so she has a lot of love to give another lucky pooch. It won’t be that surprising if her family and friends surprise Jess with a furry little bundle under the Christmas tree this year!

Jessica Simpson’s new reality series “The Price of Beauty” will take her to exotic countries where she will reveal the true cost of various beauty treatments, but the VH-1  show’s producers are finding out just how expensive it can be just to get their hostess camera-ready.

A source told Page Six, “To get her camera-ready each episode will cost $25,000. She insists on using her own hair, makeup and fashion stylists, who are more expensive than J.Lo’s.”

Simpson’s rep replied, “A budget was approved when the deal was made. All parties were satisfied.” Let’s hope VH-1 will be satisfied with the ratings.

Poor Jessica Simpson—first her career goes south, now another romance has hit the rocks.

Simpson was planning an adorable “Barbie & Ken” themed party for her 29th birthday Friday, but was left to eat her cake alone when beau Tony Romo dumped her the day before. Gee, couldn’t he have at least waited until Monday? Is he too cheap to buy her a present?

A source told E! News that, “She was caught off guard,” and had been hoping to move into Tony’s Dallas digs in time for the fall football season. Instead, she’s licking her wounds in private with her family, while Tony’s been out carousing with his posse.

Maybe Simpson and her ex Nick Lachey can console each other, since he’s single again, too. They can’t mess things up any worse than they did the first time—can they?

After failing at practically everything else, Jessica Simpson is finally returning to the genre that made her a star—or at least, a B-list celebrity. 

The Hollywood Reporter reveals Jess will host a VH1 series called “The Price of Beauty,” which will have her traveling the world to examine various notions of what is attractive.  The show begins shooting this summer, with a debut set for 2010. Let’s hope this one doesn’t end as badly as “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica” did.

Simpson enumerated her qualifications for her new job. “I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect.”

Yeah, that’s sweet, but I wonder how many makeup artists, hairdressers and stylist it will take to make Jess “prefect” enough for the cameras?

Is the longtime love affair over between Jessica Simpson and her hair stylist Ken Paves?

According to Page Six, in the past Simpson has insisted that Paves do her hair for all major photo shoots, even though some magazines don’t want to work with him. Why not? Well, there’s his devotion to the dated Texas “big hair” look, and his high fees for all that teasing. The discount store clip-in hair extensions probably don’t help his prestige, either. But Jessica has always been adamant about having Paves style her locks.

So it was something of a surprise to see that famed stylist Oribe did Jess for her Vanity Fair cover shoot. Her rep said, “[Photographer] Mario Testino insisted on his team, and we agreed. Mario is a genius. The photos are gorgeous and transformative.”

Does this mean there’s a new image —and a new stylist—in Jessica’s future?

She’s failed at practically every career she’s tried—so why on earth is Jessica Simpson on the cover of the new issue of Vanity Fair?

The story inside certainly doesn’t contain any revelations, as Jess says fascinating stuff like, “I can talk to my dad like he’s my manager, and put ‘Dad’ on the back burner. We’ve been doing it since I was 13. So, at this point, we’re in a good rhythm. A lot of people find it strange, but it’s the only way I know. And I don’t care to know another way, because it suits me. And we’ve done a pretty dang good job.”

If he’s doing such a “good job,” why did her career peak about five years ago? Maybe because, as the writer of the story says, “As an actress, she’s slightly less skillful than the actress who replaced Suzanne Somers on Three’s Company.” Ouch!

Has rapidly-fading star Jessica Simpson been hitting the bottle big time lately? 

The National Enquirer claims Jess has been partying it up since the end of her tour opening for Rascal Flatts—and BF Tony Romo wants her to straighten up. An insider blabbed, “Tony is fed up. She’s been pressuring him to marry her and have children, but he’s giving her a firm ‘no’ until she cleans up her act.”

Hey, cut her some slack, man. She’s lost her Nashville label and her movies are going straight to DVD—maybe she’s drinking to forget. Most country fans have already forgotten that album she released last year.

Her acting and singing careers have tanked, but Jessica Simpson may have finally found something she’s good at!

The NY Daily News reports the contestants in Sunday night’s Miss USA pageant will be strutting on the stage is teeny bikinis from the Jessica Simpson Collection. Both the $104 white ‘n’ gold string bikinis worn onstage and the $88 bright green string bikinis the contestants donned for a photo shoot were created especially for the competition.

Now that Jessica Simpson’s been dropped by her Nashville label and her country music career has officially been pronounced dead, some experts in the genre give their opinions on why she failed.

The AP reports Simpson’s album “Do You Know” has sold a modest 178,000 copies since its release last fall—about the same number superstar Keith Urban’s latest sold in its first week. This is after the label spent big bucks hyping the country-pop effort.

But the country crowd just wasn’t buying it—the hype or the CD. Lon Helton of Country Aircheck recalled, “Everywhere I saw her around the U.S. at different radio station events she was always well-received. For whatever reason, the music did not resonate.”

Maybe because it wasn’t very good. Or maybe just because the country audience can smell a phony.

Ian Drew, senior music editor at Us Weekly magazine, nailed it when he said, “Working the country market is very different. You really have to work it at country. You have to spend your life on the road building an audience and she didn’t really put the work in. She walked the walk and talked the talk, but she didn’t have the street cred that she needed to make it work.”

Jessica Simpson’s career as a country singer has tanked even faster than her try at being a movie star.

All mentions of Simpson have been removed from the websites of Columbia Nashville and Sony Music Nashville. She had one album, “Do You Know,” released in Sept. of last year.

The “singer” has only four upcoming tour dates scheduled, including a fair in Dixon, CA, a Sea World in TX and a casino in Lake Charles, LA. Simpson opened several dates for Rascal Flatts, during which she was panned for forgetting the words to her songs.

So what’s she going to do now? Is there another career left for Jess to try? What’s Papa Joe going to think of next?

The tabs have been buzzing that Papa Joe Simpson wants to break up daughter Jessica’s romance with Dallas Cowboy QB Tony Romo, but Big Daddy took to his  Twitter to say it’s not so.

The senior Simpson posted two messages, one saying, “So tired of people saying I don’t like jess and tony… He is the best… Don’t believe the national enquirer!!!” He later Tweeted, “Just to clear things up. All lies. I love Tony!!!”

We bet you do! For a Texan, marrying your daughter off to a Dallas Cowboy is like winning the lottery. As Jessica’s career options dwindle, another high-profile marriage could get her a more positive image—the kind she needs to sell all that stuff she has her name on.

Jessica Simpson’s country singing career seems to be sinking just as quickly as her movie career did. The Orange County Register panned her recent opening gig for superstars Rascal Flatts, calling her “forgettable at best.”

The critic’s comments included, “as for the singing, Simpson left a lot to be desired,” the 40-minute set lacked energy,” and “the performance wasn’t helped when Simpson screwed up the lyrics not once but twice.”  The second mess-up elicited boos from the audience.

You have to wonder how long Simpson can keep getting these high-profile gigs when her singing is so undistinguished and her performances so lackluster. Country music has too many younger, equally attractive girls who can actually sing.

Maybe she’s smarter than we thought. US Weekly reports that during her concert in Phoenix last night, Jessica Simpson told women who are being abused by their mates to “run so far away.”

Jess gave her advice before singing her ballad , “Remember That,” which contains these lyrics: “It doesn’t matter how he hurts you/With his hands or with his words/You don’t deserve it.”

The singer continued, “In love, we all go through a lot of things, and a lot of things unfortunately make us stay there [in the relationship]. No matter what you go through in life, no matter what abuse you go through, take your heart and run so far away.”

It’s good to hear that Jessica, who has previously owned up to having been in an abusive relationship, has learned from the experience and is willing to speak out about it. We need more famous women telling young girls that it’s not normal for a guy to hit you—that isn’t love. Especially now, when the Rihanna/Chris Brown has revealed that many teens believe what happened is partially her fault.

Jessica Simpson was in Nashville today to announce the nominees for this year’s Academy of Country Music awards along with other singing blondes Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler and LeAnn Rimes. Hough, who like Simpson, released her first country album last year, received a nod for Top New Female Vocalist. Jess didn’t.

Ouch! Hough’s competition for the trophy instead includes acclaimed singer/songwriters Ashton Shepherd and Sarah Buxton, the latter having written Keith Urban’s huge hit “Stupid Boy.” Fellow presenters Pickler and Rimes also garnered some noms for their first albums, with Rimes being one of the few country acts to win the Grammy for New Artist. 

So Jess will just have to settle for playing Indian casinos and singing to empty arenas while fans of Rascal Flatts buy beer and peruse the merch outside.

It looks like the newly full-figured Jessica Simpson won’t be the next celeb to hawk the Jenny Craig program. E! reports that the diet company, which has previously used Kirstie Alley, Valerie Bertinelli and Queen Latifah in its commercials. isn’t interested.  Jenny Craig  VP of Marketing and New Business Development Scott Parker released this statement:

“Over the past couple of weeks, a lot has been made about Jessica Simpson’s purported battle with her weight and more recently Jenny Craig’s interest in partnering with Ms. Simpson.

“Ms. Simpson has publicly stated that she is healthy, feels great and is very happy with her body. We would agree. Ms. Simpson looks fantastic and we see no reason for her to participate in a weight management program.”

Is that their way of kissing her off nicely? Wouldn’t Jenny Craig be picking up a lot of new customers if they could get Jess back into Daisy Duke’s bikini by summer?

Her records aren’t selling, her movies go straight to DVD and she seems to be eating to console herself. Now Jessica Simpson can’t even get through a singing gig without melting down.

According to the AP, Jess’ performance last night in Grand Rapids, MI, opening for Rascal Flatts was a new low, even for her. The songstress forgot her lyrics, mumbled incoherently and seemed to be on the verge of tears.

At the end of the show, Jessica  said she “sometimes feels like quitting” and mouthed “Sorry” to the audience. If this is going to be her standard for a concert, maybe quitting is a good idea.

Jessica Simpson’s movie career isn’t showing any more promise than her try at being a country singer. Her most recent film was released on DVD yesterday without ever seeing the inside of a movie theater.

Now titled “Private Valentine: Blonde and Dangerous,” the film was made a couple of years ago and originally called “Major Movie Star.” Something tells me Papa Joe is going to have a hard time finding backers for his daughter’s next cinematic effort.

In an attempt to revive her flagging country singing career, Jessica Simpson will be making an appearance in Nashville Feb. 11 at the Country Music Hall of Fame, where she will join Julianne Hough, LeAnn Rimes and Kellie Pickler in announcing the nominees for the 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. 

While Jess’s chance of snagging a nomination are pretty slim, maybe the ACM will at least send her an invite to the awards show in Vegas on April 5. Last fall. Simpson was shut out by the better-known CMA awards and spent “Country’s Biggest Night” playing to a half-empty gambling casino.

So maybe Jess is getting at least a little bit of love from the country music community, but does she really want to share a stage with three other blondes who are all younger, thinner and more talented than she is?

Jessica Simpson has been subjected to a lot of cruel comments lately on her weight. Jess has been seen recently showing an obviously fuller figure than she had a few years ago, when she was wearing Daisy Duke’s little pink bikini.

Now her little sis Ashlee has stated her feelings on her blog, and she’s pretty mad. Here’s what she had to say:

Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy…

I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight.  A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.

All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.

Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend?

I seriously doubt it. 

How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure?

Now can we focus on the things that really matter.

Baby sister has a point. I recall Jessica telling how much diet and exercise it took to be able to fit into her Daisy Dukes. The way she looks now is more likely the “real” Jessica, but those posters and videos from “Dukes” set a standard that’s practically impossible to maintain.

But on the other hand, if an actress, singer or model has been marketed for her looks and sex appeal, aren’t her fans going to be disappointed of she doesn’t make keeping up those looks a priority?

Just one more instance why being a woman in the public eye is so difficult.

Dallas QB Tony Romo may be hurting from a rib injury as well as a humiliating loss by his team to Philadelphia, bit at least he still has faithful GF Jessica Simpson to comfort him. People reports that Jess “rushed to his side as soon as she found out that Tony got hurt. She got on a red eye flight right when she found out, and arrived at 5 a.m. [that] morning,” 

Well, the blonde beauty certainly has what it takes to make a guy forget about his problems.
