“Private Practice” star Kate Walsh and a friend spent a long, lazy afternoon lounging at Orso Restaurant in Los Angeles. The soon-to-be-divorced actress relaxed for five hours, sipping on drinks and smoking cigarettes.

If “Private Practice” star Kate Walsh thought the year she spent married to Alex Young was the worst of her life, this one is turning out to be even less pleasant.

According to TMZ, Young, filed legal papers today requesting that a judge refuse to grant an order which would bar him from obtaining financial information from Kate’s accounting firm. Young claims he left the marriage with only the clothes on his back after sinking close to a million dollars on their home, where Kate now lives.

I can’t help thinking there’s more than money behind the malice in this nasty divorce. But if Kate gives in to her former hubby’s financial demands, the dirty laundry is likely to stay in the closet.

A divorce between two highly-paid adults ought to be more civilized than this, but the split between Kate Walsh and Alex Young just gets nastier.

TMZ reports Walsh’s lawyer Laura Wasser has requested a trial date for the couple’s divorce hearing. This comes after Young’s demanding more financial information on the home they bought just before the wedding and furnished together. The “Private Practice” star and the film exec were wed a mere 14 months before their split late last year.

Is Wasser putting pressure on Young’s side to settle prior to the trial date? What dirty details are likely to come out if this goes to trial? I’d bet on the settlement, which will probably find Kate paying a large sum for her freedom.

Those pesky divorce cases where the wife has all the fame and money always get nasty, don’t they?

Alex Young, to who is being divorced by “Private Practice” star Kate Walsh, has been annoying her accountants lately—so much that they have asked for a protective order against him.

RadarOnline quotes the court document :from London & Company, LLP: “Young is intent on harassing London, a non party accounting firm, on the week before the tax filing deadline through a series of cryptic, threatening and abusive letters. Young’s motive is to compound the stress of tax season and harass London and its employees.”

I think that’s lawyerspeak for “ex wants more of wife’s money.” What happened to Young’s career as a producer? 

“Private Practice” star Kate Walsh is trying to put her short-lived marriage to Alex Young behind her—and keep his hands off her bank account.

Yahoo News reports the actress has filed paperwork at the Superior Court of California in L.A. seeking to prevent Young from receiving any spousal support. The couple were married in Sept. 2007, but Walsh announced it was over in Dec. 2008. 

Why, that’s just mean—expecting a 37-year-old film exec to earn his own living! And after he gave her the best year of his life.

“I don’t think anyone gets married thinking that they will get divorced. We certainly did not. Alex and I still care for each other, and I wish him nothing but the best. The silver lining to this, however, is that I have a wonderful family and a great group of friends who really showed their support and encouragement, and for that I am truly grateful.”

Yeah, that’s nice but you have to wonder why a couple splits up so suddenly after such a short time? Did they wake up one morning and realize they never really knew each other at all?

What’s even shorter than a a “whirlwind courtship?” Too often, the marriage that follows one. ET reports that “Private Practice” star Kate Walsh and her husband of just over a year are divorcing. Alex Young has filed for divorce from the actress citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The couple wed in September of 2007 and separated on November 22, 2008. Did they even have time to unwrap all the wedding presents?

Kate Walsh was seen filming scenes for the upcoming season of Private Practice at Santa Monica’s Promenade yesterday. The new season of Private Practice premieres October 1 on ABC. Honestly, I’ve never seen an episode of Private Practice and for that matter, Grey’s Anatomy, so if last year’s finale had a life or death cliff hanger somehow related to her shopping at the promenade, I apologize for spoiling it for you.

Kate Walsh is coming back to Grey’s Anatomy! Okay, she’s only going to be appearing in one episode, but I’m sure there are a lot of Dr. Addison fans out there who’ll be happy to hear this news. Entertainment Weekly’s reporting that Kate will make a guest appearance on GA while her own show, Private Practice, is on hiatus until fall. Her character will most likely do her rounds of goodbyes in the episode she appears in. I don’t know – I really liked Dr. Addison Motgomery and Dr. Sloan (aka Dr. McSteamy) together on Grey’s. It’s too bad they won’t get a chance to rekindle their romance. Ah, well. New episodes of Grey’s Anatomy will be airing on ABC starting April 24. Get your TiVos ready.

Kate Walsh and husband Alex Young were found shopping around West Hollywood for furniture. And not just any old furniture from Wickes, mind you, but really hip ones. Yes, the hip Hollywood set always need a set of hip furniture for their Hollywood homes. Now say that really fast ten times in a row and I’ll give you a cookie. The husband and wife team were super organized, even bringing along a trusted book to maximize their shopping trip.

And check out the title on that lovely coffee table book. Who knew people really used these darn books? Maybe they brought the book along so that they don’t get the same furniture that other hip Hollywood homes already have. Yes, yes…that has to be it. Kate Walsh and husband Alex Young try to beat the holiday rush Wednesday as they arrived at the Los Angeles International airport. The couple planned on spending the Thanksgiving weekend in Hawaii but first, had to go through the same ritual we all do when traveling, TSA security. Walsh had to remove her sandals, send her bag through the X-ray machine and wait in line all while keeping that scene stealing smile on her face.
