The book’s less-than-flattering statements about her daughter’s former manager are coming back to haunt her. KTLA reports a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge refused to dismiss Lynne Spears as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Sam Lutfi, and ruled that his lawyers had established a claim for defamation.
So does this mean Mama Spears has to hire a team of detectives to prove Shady Sam is the dirtbag she painted him to be in her book? And will the Bank of Britney get stuck with the bills?

As Britney Spears launched the most anticipated comeback of the year, her mom Lynne’s in her corner cheering her on. By satellite from New Orleans, Lynne told the U.K.’s GMTV how her daughter overcame her problems.
“With a lot of love and care and help…Sometimes you have to just settle down. You have to stop, think. And there’s a lot of people that care about Britney and love Britney – and Britney’s doing great now.”
Lynne also had nice things to say about her daughter as a mom.
“Oh she’s a wonderful mother – she’s funny, she’s extremely affectionate. [At] home, where there’s nobody around, she’s very normal.”

Britney Spears’ success on the charts doesn’t seem to be rubbing of on her mom. Lynne Spears’ book “Though the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World” opened at #5 on the New York Times best seller list but has not kept up that pace. Look for it at your local 99 Cents store in 2009.
