Britney Spears’s mom Lynne might think twice before she writes a sequel to her book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.”

The book’s less-than-flattering statements about her daughter’s former manager are coming back to haunt her. KTLA reports a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge refused to dismiss Lynne Spears as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Sam Lutfi, and ruled that his lawyers had established a claim for defamation.

So does this mean Mama Spears has to hire a team of detectives to prove Shady Sam is the dirtbag she painted him to be in her book? And will the Bank of Britney get stuck with the bills?

Britney Spears and mom Lynne took a drive today to check our her new ‘hood—a  gated community in Calabasas, north of L.A. On her website, she posted that her kids saw the house and they loved it. She can’t wait to move in.

Lynne Spears satisfied her craving for caffeine at Starbucks in Studio City, CA, on Friday. This chain ought to give the Spears clan a family discount.

As Britney Spears launched the most anticipated comeback of the year, her mom Lynne’s in her corner cheering her on. By satellite from New Orleans, Lynne told the U.K.’s GMTV how her daughter overcame her problems.

“With a lot of love and care and help…Sometimes you have to just settle down. You have to stop, think. And there’s a lot of people that care about Britney and love Britney – and Britney’s doing great now.”

Lynne also had nice things to say about her daughter as a mom.

“Oh she’s a wonderful mother – she’s funny, she’s extremely affectionate. [At] home, where there’s nobody around, she’s very normal.”

Britney Spears’ success on the charts doesn’t seem to be rubbing of on her mom. Lynne Spears’ book “Though the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World” opened at #5 on the New York Times best seller list but has not kept up that pace. Look for it at your local 99 Cents store in 2009.

Britney Spears had a good reason not to be in court today as the jury deliberates in her trial for driving without a valid California license. She was spending some quality time with her two boys and her folks, Lynne and Jamie. Brit’s looking great as she gets back into being a hand’s-on mom as well as a music superstar—her new song “Womanizer” is number one on the charts!

So Momma Spears just doesn’t know how to keep her little mouth shut, as we all knew from her memoir “Through the Storm”. It turns out she is trying to make her book into a movie, which in my opinion is better suited for the Lifetime network than the silver screen. This sort of thing makes me start to feel bad for lil Brit Brit. As if she hasn’t already gone through enough turmoil and embarrassment with this book ordeal, now there’s a possibility of it being immortalized in a poorly acted performance? According to ShowbizSpy, Lynne is trying to get Julia Roberts to play her in the film… um yeah right!? I really doubt that the woman formerly dubbed America’s Sweetheart is willing to play the worst mom of the century. Unless, of course, they plan on spending the mulah to make it an entirely ‘green’ film. Then, maybe they’ll talk.

Britney Spears and her mother Lynne Spears attempted to have some quiet Mother-Daughter time yesterday. The two left Britney’s Summit compound hidden in the backseat of a gardener’s truck, complete with trees and tools. Photogs were sill able to catch on and managed to snap them arriving at Chinois Beaute Bar in Studio City, Ca. Police later arrived to help setup traffic breaks so that Britney and her mother could leave without “incident.”

In case you haven’t heard, Lynne Spears, mother of Britney Spears, has written a book that’s dropping in stores on Sept. 15. “Through The Storm” recounts from Britney’s early childhood up until her second hospital admittance and People Magazine got an early look at the book. They’ve posted a couple excerpts of the book that reportedly had Britney furious as well as an interview with Lynne. Here’s a couple highlights:

Lynne Spears says that even knowing what she knows now, she would still let her daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn pursue stardom. “I think you have to let them follow their dreams. [ ] I think it would be worse in the end if you didn’t.”

She says Britney and Bryan have yet to read it, but “Jamie Lynn loved the book. I started to cry because I told her, ‘I wanted so much for you to like it.’ And she got up and kissed me on the cheek and said, ‘Mama, thank you so much.’”

As for Lynne’s relationship with Britney, she says it “has undergone tremendous healing. [ ] We are back to four or five phone calls a day.” Which I’m having trouble believing if Britney has yet to read the book. Although, despite past parental troubles, Britney may not want to dwell on those day, especially after the way she came out of the VMA’s.

Lynne Spears’ new book is almost ready for your taking and here’s a look at the cover. Britney and Jamie Lynn’s mama decided to set the record straight and tell all about her life in a new book, Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World. The 272-page book published by Thomas Nelson will be released September 16 and it’s sure to sell a lot of copies. This is not Lynne’s first book. She released A Mother’s Gift, which she co-authored with Brit in 2001. Although her new book was first touted as a parenting guide, it’s publisher is correcting the mistake. The book, says a Thomas Nelson spokesperson, is a “story of what it was like being a mom and raising two very famous people.” Well, it’s been quite a year for the Spears family, so the interest in this book should be huge. I welcome any reviews on the book when it comes out from our readers.

Brit, who was accompanied by Jamie and Lynne Spears, as well as her two sons, reportedly visited a lawyer’s office in Bel-Air to get advice on how she can get permission to allow her sons to leave out of state with her. Britney would like Sean Preston and Jayden James to meet their new cousin Maddie and she’ll need special permission to do so. Remember, Brit has obtained more time with her boys after her custody settlement a couple of weeks ago, but Kevin maintains sole custody of the kids. Hopefully Brit gets to take her kiddies to Lousiana and from the looks of these pictures, it looks like they had a great meeting at the attorney’s office. Our photogs got pictures of Britney Spears, along with her two sons and parents, visiting a powerful Beverly Hills laywer in Bel Air, CA this afternoon. Sources tell us that the family is in the works to get the two boys permission to leave town with Britney to see sister Jamie Lynn and have the boys meet their cousin Maddie Briann. Brit and ex-husband Kevin Federline just settled their custody issues two weeks ago, with Britney getting more visitation time with her kids, but Kevin maintaining sole custody. Let’s hope Brit gets the chance to take her boys to see their new cousin.

This is definitely perfect timing for a book! Lynne Spears, mom to Britney and Jamie Lynn, will be writing a memoir, according to Usweekly.com. The tile of the book is Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World and it’s slated for a September release. The book will be put out by Christian publishing company Thomas Nelson. Their rep, Curt Harding, told the magazine that Lynne will be writing about the dark period(s?) of Britney’s life. She will also tell her own family story to begin the book. Curt told the mag that folks will be surprised reading about a much stronger Lynne than the public perceives. I totally believe this about Lynne. Everyone’s giving daddy Spears all the credit for Brit’s improvement as of late, but I’m sure Lynne had a big part of it, too. Well, I’m sure the book will be a big hit and an interesting read.

I’m sure Britney needs some time to herself, so she cherishes it when her parents are out of her hair. Our photog spotted Jamie doing a little grocery shopping at Ralph’s this weekend and Lynne enjoying a solo Starbucks run. I guess we know where Brit gets her favorite spots from. Britney’s been doing very well since Jamie’s taken over her affairs. I’m sure it’s made the father and daughter much closer, too. Aww, sweet. Just in time for Father’s Day next month. So, while Brit’s working out at Bally’s, this is what her parents do on their spare time.

Britney’s mama, Lynne Spears, was spotted yesterday as she arrived at a Beverly Hills medical office. Lynne wasn’t with Brit, but she has visited her grandsons while she’s here in Los Angeles. Lynne’s going back and forth between L.A. and Kentwood, LA, where preggy Jamie Lynn is staying. She has been working with ex husband Jamie on helping Britney get back on her feet. She should be happy with the progress from the last few weeks. Brit’s been doing pretty well and just had a dinner meeting with Mel Gibson last night. Things are looking up in the Spears clan these days.

I’m sure Millenium Dance Studio in North Hollywood loves them some Britney Spears. Then again, they’re probably not too fond of all the crowds swarming their property. In any case, Brit came by the dance studio again today with her mama, Lynne. She also brought her cd, Blackout, to dance along to. So she’s practicing dance moves with her own music. There are many kinds of therapy – mental therapy, massage therapy, chocolate cupcake therapy, and so on and so forth. Britney decided to take part in a little bit of retail therapy today, because nothing makes a girl feel better than a new pair of whatever it is that grabs her eye. And with all the commotion in her life, Brit definitely deserved to get at least two pairs of something or other. Hanging out with mama Spears and some new bodyguards, Britney visited Miss Sixty on Melrose Avenue today. It’s good to see Brit doing her normal stuff – going to dance classes, shopping, etc. – without all the craziness involved. Maybe it was her last hospitalization, or her parents being in the picture again, that’s keeping her in good behavior. Whatever it is, it’s working right now and it’s a good sign for her fans. I have never seen an actual restraining order but have always assumed it’s a piece of paper (colored yellow, don’t ask me why) signed by a judge. When I heard about the eleven page restraining order Brit’s parents filed against Sam Lutfi, I was a bit shocked. Eleven pages? Really? Well, it is a very detailed one. Sam has to stay 250 yards away from Britney, her homes, her children’s homes, the hospital she’s in, etc. The restraining order also details the complaints Jamie and Lynne Spears have regarding Sam. It stated that Sam moved into Brit’s home last October, cut off her home phone lines, and has tried to control her finances and career. It also states that he drugged Britney. It basically paints Sam as an abusive and destructive leech, but in better written sentences. The hearing regarding the restraining order is set for February 22. I guess that’s when Sam gets his day in court. With all this drama going on in the “outside” world, Brit should definitely just stay where she is.

Update: Jamie Spears has been granted conservatorship today. He will have control over Britney’s medical treatment and her entire estate. Pagesix.com also reported that he was awarded a civil restraining order against someone, but it wasn’t announced who the unlucky receipient is. Sam, maybe? More updates to follow.

Lynne and Jamie Spears, Brit’s parents, have gone to court today to request a conservatorship over their daughter’s medical treatment. Lynne and Jamie, though divorced, have been working side by side in hopes of helping their troubled daughter. The court has the power to grant a conservatorship to the Spears’ and if approved, would allow Lynne and Jamie the right to make decisions on behalf of Britney regarding her treatment. Brit’s still at the UCLA Medical Center, where she is going through a mandatory 72-hour evaluation. If given the conservatorship, Brit’s parents can decide if she needs more hospitalization. The conservatorship, I also just found out, gives Lynne and Jamie the rights to Brit’s financial affairs. I definitely would rather have her parents retain control of her medical and financial affairs than Sam. Brit needs her family now and it’s a good thing they’re stepping up to help her. Just look at the pictures of both parents. Jamie (below) looks like he’s been crying for days and mom, Lynne, looks exhausted and worried. But at least they’re around, so that’s what matters. I’ll give y’all updates if the Spears were granted conservatorship as soon as I get word.

We’ve got video of the huge police convoy that escorted the ambulance carrying Britney Spears to UCLA medical center followed by Britney’s mom, an assitant and Adnan. We caught a brief glimpse of Lynne Spears in the passenger seat and Adnan riding in the back telling police officers to let them through the police barricade.

We’ve also received word that Adnan has left the hospital. We’ll post more details soon.
