Where Brit’s Money Is Going
Tuesday, April 1st, 2008
K-Fed’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, was spotted by our photogs furniture shopping on Robertson Blvd. It’s kind of weird seeing him without a suit. I just read online that MVK was also Chris Judd’s divorce lawyer. Chris Judd, if you’ve already forgotten, was Jennifer Lopez’s ex-hubby. I wonder how much MVK got Chris on that settlement. Remember, MVK was asking that Brit pay for half a million dollars worth of Kevin’s legal fees. He was awarded $375,000 a coupleof weeks ago, which is not chump change. I guess he can afford to buy that wonderful day bed he’s always wanted. And let’s hope we don’t see too much of him anymore in the future.

K-Fed Picking Up The Tab?
Monday, March 10th, 2008
Um, the jury’s still out on this one. The judge who heard Stacy Phillips (Brit’s new custody attorney) this morning will have think about overturning the ruling that Britney has to pay for Kevin’s legal fees. Phillips highlighted Kevin’s lenient spending and cited examples of such behavior. Both sides made their arguments, but the judge did not make any decisions today. Brit’s legal team is actually just asking that Kevin pay for “some” of his legal fees, which you would think is not too much to ask for. Anyway, the next custody hearing is set for May 6, but there will definitely be more updates regarding this story before then.

K-Fed’s Team Gets Lighter
Wednesday, February 13th, 2008
Who knew lawyers needed publicists, but Mark Vincent Kaplan did. Too bad his guy quit on him. According to SFGate.com, PR guru Michael Sands quit as the spokesperson for Kevin Federline’s lawyer. The reason? He got sick of attacking Britney Spears. This is what Sands had to say about Kaplan: “Mark Vincent Kaplan needs to lay off. Everyone has to lay off before Britney dies accidentally.” He also expressed his opinion that the kids (Sean Preston and Jayden Jaymes) are better off with Kevin right now, but that Britney should be allowed to see her kids. Sands said that Kevin Federline needs to step up and be supportive of Britney for the sake of their kids and “not hide behind the shield of his lawyer and be a man” (his actual words). And the soap opera continues.

Osama’s Turn
Thursday, January 24th, 2008
TMZ is reporting that Brit’s original shady pal Osama ‘Sam’ Lutfi is being deposed by Kevin Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan. The main item on MVK’s list is trying to find out more about Sam’s relationship with a certain paparazzi photo agency that has been allowed special access to Britney. If it can be proven that Sam is on the payroll of the agency, Commissioner Stone won’t be too pleased that the kids are being used in such a manner. Tsk-tsk.

Britney Shows For Her No-Show
Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008
Britney was due in court this morning for an emergency hearing that she requested to reinstate visitation with her children under modified rules. The pop star turned up only to leave before she had her chance to testify. It is now being reported that Britney and her lawyers have failed to convince Commissioner Scott Gordon to allow therapeutic visitation. How much was Britney’s no show a factor? Probably not much short term, but long term, it only adds to the mountain that Britney is making out of her mole hill.
