Brooke Burns was spotted filming a guest shot for the CW series “Melrose Place” on location in Los Angeles, CA. The show is not doing well in the ratings and is hoping for major help from the addition of Heather Locklear in November.

When Laura Leighton was added to the cast of the CW’s new version of nighttime soap “Melrose Place,” the general response was, “Isn’t she dead already?” Now a plot device for the new show has been revealed which explains why Sydney’s back from the (presumed) dead.

Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly spilled the beans about what goes down when the show debuts in the fall. The body of Sydney Andrews will be found floating in the apartment house pool—and somebody killed her. This will launch a season-long murder mystery, with Leighton appearing in flashbacks. 

OK, might be interesting, provided the new cast can act. But what will they do for a plot after Sydney’s murder is solved? This is the kind of schtick you can only drag out so long.

After months of campaigning to join the cast of the CW’s new version of “Melrose Place,” Lisa Rinna had thrown in the towel.

The actress, who played Taylor McBride on the original “Melrose,” told E!’s Marc Malkin she’s given up the fight. “We had a moment, and it was real fun. I’ve moved on. It’s all good.”

Rinna adits to being puzzled about how the CW series will handle the return of Thomas Calabro (Michael Mancini) and Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews). “I just wonder how they’re going to bring Laura back, because she was dead. I remember filming the scene. She’s dead. She’s dead. They wanna fool me and say she wasn’t, but she’s dead.”

Hey, that’s never stopped a character on a soap from coming back. Maybe Sydney has an evil twin…

It looks like there will be a vacancy at the new “Melrose Place.” Heather Locklear will not be moving in.

US reports that the former Amanda Woodward has turned down a part on the upcoming CW soaper, despite being actively courted by the producers. The likely problem is, not surprisingly, money. The actress has been rumored to be holding out for $100,000 an episode, and the producers just don’t have the budget to meet her price.

Too bad. The cast so far sounds as exciting as lukewarm milk, and they could use a feisty cougar like Heather to spice things up.

Relax, there won’t be any salary outbursts going on here and the CW is not planning to do a combo pack of Aaron Spelling’s old dramas. But it has been reported that the Melrose Place cast will reunite. No, they’re not going to meet up at Black Angus for catch up. The crew, according to E! News, is going to be reunited at this year’s Emmy Awards. The Emmys is celebrating it’s 60th year and rumor has it producers are planning to feature TV reunions galore. Besides Melrose Place, the Happy Days cast have reportedly been approached also. It would be great to see Heather Locklear and the gang back together again, even for just one night. Make it happen, Emmys! The 60th Annual Emmy Awards will be televised live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on September 21 on ABC. Maybe you’ll get to see Potsie.
