Video: Cusack In 2012

Monday, December 15th, 2008

According to a mythical Mayan calendar, the earth will be destroyed in the year 2012. A drag, I know but on the bright side, we’ll get a preview of what to expect in 2012 next year when the movie of the same name is released. A whole 3 years before the inevitable end. Sadly, it looks like John Cusack will still be sporting the thin black tie style. Anyway, I’m not sure what’s really happening in these scenes but it does look like John spends most of the movie on his cell phone.

Movie Date Night

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Okay, these two are starting to grow on me. The neutral feelings I have for the Wentz’s are slowly turning into a little bit of amusement in seeing a preggy Ashlee canoodling happily with her hubby. Definitely sappiness at its best. Ashlee and Pete were spotted a couple of days ago catching a movie at the ArcLight in Sherman Oaks. The two were intertwined the whole night, with Ash hanging on to her man’s arm throughout the evening. Pete recently told People Magazine that he makes sure he talk to the baby as much as possible. “I talk to our baby all the time,” he stated. “‘The Expectant Father’ tells you that the woman, when she speaks, the baby hears her all the time. And the father’s voice isn’t familiar unless you talk to it, so I talk to it all the time.” Good for you, Petey. Good for you. There are a bunch more pics of the happy couple after the jump. Have at them.

Let’s Go To The Movies

Friday, April 11th, 2008

keanu.jpg

What does Keanu Reeves have to do with movies this weekend? Well, his new movie Street Kings is opening today. The movie has a great cast including Forest Whitaker and Jay Mohr, so it should be pretty good. Other movies opening today: Prom Night, Chaos Theory, Dark Matter and Smart People. Smart People looks like a good pick, but it’s opening in limited theaters, so check your local theaters for info. The movie’s cast include Sarah Jessical Parker and Juno star Ellen Page. Go out and spend that tax return you just received in the mail at the movies. You’ll probably need to use the whole check just for the popcorn and jujubes.

Valentine’s Day Movie Guide

Valentine’s Day Movie Guide

Yes, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and if you haven’t made reservations to your favorite restaurant, then you’re probably a$$ed out. There are, however, new movies releasing a day early tomorrow you can take your honeybun to. For the romance-seekers, Definitely Maybe looks like a total date movie and it’s starring cutie-pie Ryan Reynolds. If you and your lovebug are into thrillers, how about checking out Jumper? If you’re one of those folks who secretly loves those teen dance movies, then you’re in luck because Step Up 2 The Streets (yes, it’s a sequel) is also opening. And finally, if you can’t find a babysitter but still want to go out to the movies, just take your little tykes to see The Spiderwick Chronicles. Just hand them a cell phone, tell them to call you when the movie’s done, and you and your date can go make out in another theater. Good times.

Take A Break From Shopping…

Take A Break From Shopping…

…and maybe catch a movie or two this weekend. I’m sure you’re probably tired of shopping by now. I personally haven’t gone to the mall myself, but the thought of 5 million people fighting over this year’s toy of the moment makes me want to hurl. There are big movies opening this weekend, including Will Smith’s I Am Legend. Will plays the last survivor on earth after a virus wipes out humanity. How about wiping out everyone at the mall? I’m kidding. The movie looks action-packed, so if you’re in the mood for an escape, you might want to check that out. Also out this weekend: Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Perfect Holiday (with Queen Latifah and Gabrielle Union), and The Kite Runner (also read the book). Get yourself a large bucket of popcorn, peanut M&Ms and a large soda, and you’re good to go. Have fun!
