A Paparazzo a was arrested by Beverly Hills Police for driving without a license after crashing into the rear of Nicole Richie’s Land Rover on Wilshire Blvd. Monday afternoon. He was taken into custody and his vehicle was impounded.

Some celebs try to get away with not feeding the meter when they park, but not Christina Ricci. When the petite actress stopped in West Hollywood to run some errands, she put coins in the meter, then struggled to get a large box out of her car. A pap put down his camera to rush to her aid, because the package was almost as big as Christina!

“Entourage” star Adrian Grenier is just as happy behind the camera as in front of it. Now he’s planning a follow-up for his hybrid docu/scripted “Teenage Paparazzi.”

The Hollywood Reporter talked to Grenier about his new project “Spin,” about 21st century media and its impact on society. The actor/filmmaker stated, “It’s an important story to tell.”

“Spin” is being pitched to several networks as a feature-length documentary or a TV movie/pilot for a 13-episode miniseries.

I have a hard time identifying myself as Conservative or Liberal. I’ve always felt that if you align yourself to any deep degree with venomous comments, it’ll eventually come back to bite you on the butt. So thank God for Jon Stewart pointing out hypocritical wind bags like Bill O’Reilly.

So what happens when the majority of the tabloid worthy celebs leave town for Sundance or Inauguration? You get lots more hard up paps working on lesser stars, that’s what happens. And that’s what indeed happened on Monday as poor Eva Longoria, who probably wasn’t invited to DC or Utah, waded into the shark infested waters of Beverly Hills. And what’s great about this video is the fact that we get to make fun of the new guy, David. We’re all friends here at JFX and as much as we like to make fun when other paps fall over themselves or planters, it’s even better to make fun when it happens to one of us. Of course, I’m telling David that I’m posting the video so he’ll learn to keep an eye out for potted plants, but in reality, we ARE definitely laughing at him. So join us in the laughs.

So even though the title says Best Of, Worst of,…. I have to be honest with you, there’s more Worst than Best. I’ve seen more than I care to admit to you guys and even to myself just to keep the nightmares away but we wanted to do something a bit different to continue celebrating the opening of the JFX Documentary ‘Giving It Up’ at the Palm Spring International Film Festival yesterday. So I put together this little reel of low lights that didn’t have a home over the last year. But please, please, PLEASE, treat the clip like a swimming pool. Make sure you wait at least two hours after eating before you dive into it!

We’ll have more stuff for you over the next couple days leading up to the second screening on Thursday, which the entire JFX crew will be attending!

Back in 2006, a film crew followed JFX photographers for six months and now that footage will be screened in a the Documentary titled ‘Giving It Up‘ at the Palm Spring Film Festival. There will be two screening held next week and we’ll be attending the first screening this Monday, January 12, 2008, along with the director Frank Ruy. Two weeks ago, a group of Paps got together at the Hollywood Sports Park in Belleflower California for some friendly paintball action! Most peple don”t realize how extremely stressful this job can be and sometimes the only way to relieve that stress is with other paps who understand. So often times we get together with friends and rivals to blow off some steam and re-charge the ol’ lumidyne’s. Uli was there and as usual, he had lots to say to the camera and also managed to get a couple paps to comment on Ashley Tisdale’s allegations against the phantom paparazzi who broke into her home.

Ashley Tisdale’s house was broken into recently and since police weren’t able to arrest anyone for it, Ashley tried to put the blame on the paparazzi. Ashley spoke to Access Hollywood where they reported a man with a video camera broke into her condo in what Ashley believes was an attempt to get footage. “They broke in an entry and went into the hall and followed my stylist.”

Let’s be honest here. First off, if a pap broke into a home to get footage, he would be incriminating himself with the footage if he attempted to sell said footage. No news outlet would ever buy footage acquired through illegal activities as they would likely be charged with a crime. Secondly, that movie ‘Paparazzi’ was just that, a movie. As hard as Mel Gibson tried to turn us all into overly obsessive lunatics, we’re not. Finally, Vanessa Hudgens gets more attention than you not because someone stole her naked pictures but because she’s Zac Efron’s girlfriend. If it was you who had those pictures released, Disney would have dropped you quicker than the value of my 401(k) in recent months.

Talk like this gets me angry because it creates situations where paparazzi are looked on as less than human, as people that can be spit on or beat down without consequence. Just yesterday there was footage of Tobey McGuire’s alleged friends throwing down with paps and Johnny Depp’s bodyguard slapping around some photogs. It’s getting to the point where even the paparazzi know it’s better to not be called paparazzi.

Although not all paparazzi follow the rules, a pap breaking into someones house threatens more than a celeb, it threatens the entire business. Other photogs wouldn’t sit idly by while a rogue pap or a dangerous stalker broke into a celebs home. If it’s not business as usual, that costs photogs money because it creates so much tension between the celebs and paps, if you can still manage to get a photo, it’s usually worthless. When you start messing with pap’s money you’re likely to feel their wrath quickly. You can’t blame the paparazzi for all the bad in this world. Celebs use us every day when it suits them, when they need attention for their movies or to save face and we surely don’t mind it. But when you start to point fingers and make accusations without consequence, karma may not like that.

One day soon, the paparazzi will organize and when that happens, perhaps we’ll have long memories and have the power to decide what stars get photographed and which don’t. Will celebs choose to to diss paparazzi when they need us most? Like when their new album or movie is about about to be released. Remember what happened to George Clooney when he took on the paparazzi? Even since then, he’s had run ins with paparazzi, but has wisely chosen not to call press conferences to bitch about it.

Having someone break into your house is no laughing matter, I know that. It’s scary and leaves you feeling violated. But Ashley, just because you’re scared, don’t turn the paparazzi into the boogey man because one day we may not be around for you to blame and I dare say, you may be missing us by then.

Box Office Champ Beverly Hills Chihuahua continued to stomp out the competition for the second weekend in a row, hauling in $17.5 million.

Lisa Marie Presley gave birth to twins via C-section last week although it was announced this past weekend. The twins, who came in weighing 5 lbs 15oz and 5 lbs 2 oz are said to be doing well along with Mommy.

A crazy man apparently threatened to stab Spice Girl Mel B, husband Stephen Belafonte and a group of Paps at London’s Heathrow airport. The man was arressted after going ape on the group, saying “I’ll get a knife and stab you!” No word on what set the man off.

We spotted Gerard Butler running around West Hollywood yesterday, a day after he allegedly beat a pap down as he was leaving the Crown Bar around 2:00 AM. TMZ reports that the LAPD is looking into the case after the photog filed a police report later that morning after receiving medical attention.

“Gerard allegedly then reached in the car, grabbed the photog’s throat and and punched him three or four times. Butler allegedly then kicked the car and again punched the photog three or four times — close-fisted — for good measure.”

TMZ is now reporting that Gerard may have been provoked into beating the pap down because the pap was following Gerard for hours that night and that he may have been driving recklessly. Lord knows there are times when I want to beat some paps down while on the job but after looking at the pictures, even Sean Penn must be thinking that’s a bit too much.

Cameron Diaz was trying to hide the left side of her face from the paparazzi as she left her gym in West Hollywood yesterday. Cam pulled her hair down over the side of her face for some reason. We’re not sure what Cam was trying to hide and I’m not even going to start guessing because that could get ugly. Funny, but ugly.

Britney Spears dined at The Little Door in West Hollywood last night and she wasn’t too happy with all the paparazzi attention. Britney asked the paps to cool it when things got a little out of hand before Brit dashed inside.

Welcome back to Episode 9 of our ongoing slice of paparazzi life we like to call Pap 101. We caught up with Demi and Ashton a couple weeks back, you can check out the original story if you’d like but we’re bringing you the behind the scenes on how that shoot went down with. Be prepared for some fun with Jonzen and Uli this time around as they catch a rare occurrence of Demi and Ashton actually smiling in public. The ending is kind of abrupt but when you get Demi and Ashton together like this, you tend to forget to do little things like hit the record button.

Uli and Jonzen are back with Episode 6 of our continuing web series, Pap 101. In this webisode, Uli and Jonzen spend Easter weekend with Ashley Tisdale and her little doggie Blondie. One thing you should take away from this episode is that if you ever come upon a group of paps on the job, the worst question you could ever ask them is “So, who’s in there?” It’s very likely they won’t answer and if they do respond, you’ll probably get a very funny response. Like the poor guy who asked Uli that same question in this video. The guys have to do something to entertain themselves sometimes besides filming silly webisodes of themselves!

We’re back with another episode of Pap 101. This time, we follow our two fearless heroes to the Pasadena set of Cameron Diaz’s movie ‘My Sisters Keeper.’ Be sure to pay attention to how quickly Cameron spots our guys and how lost her bodyguard looks after she points us out to him.

Adrien Grenier is working on a documentary that studies the symbiotic relationship between celebrities and the paparazzi. Yeah, I used the word symbiotic and I even know what it means! But I digress. Adrien spent the day working with paparazzi new and old on Brooke Shields and even spent some time hanging with the paps up at Britney Spears’. We’ll be bringing you another episode of Pap 101 from our time with Adrien later today, so check back for some fun time with Adrien. You can see a quick shot of Adrien in the background of the Brooke Shields shot below. C’mon Adrien, you’ve got to be in front of the talent! But I’m sure L.A. pap legend, who we lovingly refer to as the ‘Lion King’, let him know after Adrien showed him his shots. Pay attention to the man Adrien, he knows what he’s talking about.

Yup, the cops are after us. Thankfully JFX has managed to stay out of the po po’s war path over the last couple days, though. The police are responding to complaints from local businesses and residents around Los Angeles who have voiced concern over the paps’ presence and driving tactics. The cops have chosen to concentrate on the photogs who work exclusively on Britney Spears and today they were waiting for photogs at a notoriously heavy trafficked intersection in Beverly Hills. Cops were positioned so that unsuspecting photogs who broke any traffic laws, big or small, were automatically pulled over and ticketed. Yes, ladies and gents – the cops are now setting traps out for paps. All this law enforcement crackdown was bound to happen, especially with the current flurry of Britney chasings always in the media limelight. But is singling out photographers lawful? Also, what if it’s the celebrity being followed that disobey traffic laws. Will they also be pulled over and ticketed? I think what these cops fail to realize sometime is that the paparazzis roaming the streets are only doing their jobs – it’s their livelihood. Why would you need to police folks who are only doing their jobs? At any rate, I’m sure there are tons of you out there with different points of view, so feel free to leave us a comment.
