Carnie Gets “Unstapled”
Wednesday, October 21st, 2009Carnie Wilson has always been very open about her lifelong struggle with her weight, and now she’s bringing that fight to reality TV. The former Wilson Phillips singer has a new show called “Carnie Wilson: Unstapled” set to debut in January on GSN, where she currently hosts “The Newlywed Game.”
The show will cover the mom-of-two’s efforts to take off about 50 pounds of “baby weight.” Wilson told the AP, “I’ve written two autobiographies and posed for Playboy. I think I’ve pretty much been out there. This is definitely the most exposed I’ve ever been.” That’s saying a lot, since her 1999 gastric-bypass surgery was televised.

Third Time’s The Charm For Denise’s Boobs
Friday, June 5th, 2009It’s no surprise when an actress admits to having a boob job, but Denise Richards has taken breast enhancement to the extreme—by having hers done three times!
The star of the E! reality show “It’s Complicated” dropped by Howard Stern’s SIRIUS radio show yesterday to promote the second season debut of the series on June 7. Predictably, Stern had to ask whether her breasts were real.
Richards related her story of arriving in Hollywood to try her luck at becoming an actress. “I was 19, and my roommate had the best boobs ever, and she had just had hers done. I was flat as a board, and I thought ‘Whoa, you can just buy them’ and stupidly had them done!”
She was not pleased with the result, which made her breasts “way too big for my body.” A second surgery made Richards even more voluptuous, and led to a third surgery that finally gave her the results she wanted.
Now the actress says, “I was young and should have researched better. You know, it was a big mistake. Young girls, don’t do it!” But you know they will, Denise.

Please.Make.It.Stop
Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009They’re baaaaack! Just when we hoped the dirty duo of Spencer and Heidi Pratt were off the island for good, they just keep hanging around like a bad case of crabs.
Stories about whether “The Hills” pair are in or out on ”I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” have been circulating all day, but late afternoon brought the bad news, via the L.A. Times. Despite that elaborate ruse at LAX last night, the gruesome twosome is still in Costa Rica—and worse yet, still on the show.
NBC executive vice president of alternative programming Paul Telegdy told the Times that the pair would face a ”jungle-based purgatory challenge in which they will have to spend the night in solitary confinement” in order to be allowed back on the show. While the thought of seeing these two in purgatory is mildly interesting, I’d rather see them do something really challenging, like try not to whine for 24 hours.
Shouldn’t Heidi automatically be a goner this week, since the viewers had the chance to vote for the ladies last night, but her name wasn’t even in the running? But this is a “reality” series, so you never know what will happen. Except, of course, that the network and producers will do anything for ratings.

Paris Seeks New BFF
Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009Paris Hilton can’t seem to hold onto her friends—now she’s looking for a new BFF, again.
The AP reports Paris will be looking for her latest bestie in, of all places, Dubai. That country will be the scene for the next season of “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF,” which will begin shooting later this month.
There’s not much potential for suspense here, but I can think of a few questions about the latest season of this show. Will the winner be required to speak English? Will s/he have to move to L.A.? Will Paris be able to get through the filming without doing something that gets her expelled from the country? Will anyone watch this lame excuse for a show?

Pratts Fall Flat On “I’m a Celebrity…”
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009So are “The Hills” stars Spencer and Heidi Pratt still on NBC’s wretched reality trainwreck ”I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!“—or not? At this point, it’s doubtful even they know.
On last night’s series debut, the pair acted like total delusional brats, threatening to walk off at least twice. This morning, sources were reporting that the couple had bolted the show and were headed back to L.A. from Costa Rica.
This afternoon, stories are coming in that the obnoxious newlyweds have had a change of heart, and will return to the series. But will the suits at NBC buy into their drama and take them back? We hope not—but their relieved castmates must be hoping even more that Spencer and Heidi are gone for good.
