Halle Applauds Rihanna
Friday, November 20th, 2009Halle Berry has been very outspoken about her own experiences with physical abuse, and is a passionate supporter of causes fighting domestic abuse. Now the actress and mom tells Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos her thoughts about Rihanna, and how she finally went public with the details of her beating at the hands of Chris Brown.
Maria pointed out, “Recently, Rihanna stepped forward and obviously she had an issue with domestic violence. She was able to get away which isn’t often the easiest thing.” Halle answered, “Any time a woman frees herself from that kind of bondage and that kind of situation I’m proud.”
Halle is working with photographer Mark Liddell on his book “Exposed: 10 Years In Hollywood,” which will benefit the Jenesse Center, a domestic violence organization.

Chris Gets Clean Report
Thursday, November 19th, 2009Convicted Rihanna-beater Chris Brown was back in court today to give the judge a progress report on his probation for felony assault. The disgraced R&B star was sentenced to undergo counseling and must perform six months of community labor in Virginia.
Lawyer Mark Geragos earned his hefty fee by convincing probation officials that Brown had already done 100 hours of community service. Whoopee. Isn’t that like, two and a half weeks out of six months? He does less than a month out of six and gets an “extremely favorable” report? Brown’s now doing a “comeback” tour and releasing a new album. When will he get back to VA and finish picking up trash off the highway?

Chris Confronted In NYC
Thursday, November 12th, 2009Chris Brown is finding that some people just aren’t going to forgive and forget what he did to Rihanna. TMZ reports the disgraced singer was posing with fans in NYC Wednesday night when a woman went up to him and shouted “****ing beater” and “I hope someone beats the ****ing crap out of you!”
All those anger management classes must be working, because Chris just smiled and walked on by. And ignored the fans who yelled, “Smack that bitch up.” Uh, wasn’t that what got him in all this trouble in the first place?

Chris Brown Goes Back On Tour
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009In an effort to salvage what’s left of his career, disgraced crooner Chris Brown will be embarking on a “Fan Appreciation” tour. The AP reports the jaunt will begin in Houston Nove. 14 and play small venues.
Uh, isn’t he supposed to be in the middle of doing six months of all-day labor back in Virginia for the Rihanna beatdown? Is the court letting him out to do a tour? I certainly hope they don’t consider returning to the concert stage to be “community service,” even though a portion of the proceeds from the tour are supposed to go to charity.
Maybe someone in the justice system will note that only two months ago, Brown was sentenced to five years’ probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling. Let him finish all that, then go back on the road.

Brown Sentencing Postponed
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009Disgraced R&B star Chris Brown will have to wait a little longer to learn his fate—talking to kids or picking up trash?
E! reports that Brown’s sentencing for assaulting former GF Rihanna has been delayed until August 27. This time lapse is supposed to allow authorities in California and Brown’s home state of Virginia to work out the details of his punishment. Brown prefers to serve his six months of community labor in VA, probably because there will be fewer paps to gleefully record images of him in his orange suit, sweating by the interstate.
L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg is determined that the crooner not be allowed to get off with cushy duties, saying, “I did not favor community service, I wanted it to be community labor.” Good for her! Maybe some of Brown’s teen fans would think twice about emulating his treatment of women if they saw photos of him doing hard labor for his crime.
