Britney Spears’s mom Lynne might think twice before she writes a sequel to her book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.”

The book’s less-than-flattering statements about her daughter’s former manager are coming back to haunt her. KTLA reports a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge refused to dismiss Lynne Spears as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Sam Lutfi, and ruled that his lawyers had established a claim for defamation.

So does this mean Mama Spears has to hire a team of detectives to prove Shady Sam is the dirtbag she painted him to be in her book? And will the Bank of Britney get stuck with the bills?

He must be hard up for cash again, because Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi is back working on his lawsuit against the singer and her family.

According to TMZ, Lutfi has filed legal papers in his ongoing defamation lawsuit against Britney, Jamie and Lynne Spears, basicially blaming them for everything that’s wrong with his life. Shady Sam claims Mama Lynne lied about him in her book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.”

Lutfi says that as a result of Lynne Spears alleged “lies,” which include that he secretly placed ground up pills in Britney’s food, people are being mean to him. Poor wittle Sammy sez, “I am constantly in fear for my life…” because he’s getting “harassed and cajoled by the public.” I guess it’s never occurred to him that people don’t like him because he’s ugly and obnoxious. Or because he owes them money.

Shady Sam has also managed to drag Brit’s former BF Adnan Ghalib into his suit, like the ex-pap doesn’t have enough trouble already. Lutfi says he has a declaration from Ghalib refuting Lynne’s statement that Sam was holding Britney hostage. Maybe poor Adnan is the last person still speaking to him.

JFX has photos of Sam and Britney together, but nobody really wants to look at his ugly mug anyway. Wouldn’t you rather see Brit in a clingy top?

Is there really a new development every day in the legal problems of Britney Spears, Inc., or does it just seem that way?

The story du jour is Jamie Spears’ response to the lawsuit by his daughter’s former manager Sam Lutfi against Camp Spears for breach of contract. RadarOnline quotes from the court papers, “Defendant J. Spears denies generally each and every allegation of plaintiff’s unverified First Amended Complaint, and denies the Plaintiff has been injured or damaged in any degree, amount, or sums, or is entitled to any relief at all.” Daddy Spears also defends any use of force against Lutfi. J. Spears was privileged to use force in and about the matters complained of in the FAC, if any force was used, because he was provoked by plaintiff through his words or conduct.”

As usual, Spears requests dismissal of the suit and payment of attorney fees. A trial is scheduled for March 2010. Spears will probably sue somebody to pay for that, too.

While Britney Spears has been busy touring, working her cute little butt off to make money, her daddy Jamie Spears has been busy spending it on lawyers, fighting anyone who threatens his stranglehold over his daughter’s life. Those pesky legal bills will get even higher now, since one of his targets is fighting back.

RadarOnline reports attorney Jon Eardley has filed papers in an L.A. court appealing the three-year restraining order served against him, and also objecting to being forced to pay the legal costs of obtaining the order. Eardley, Brit’s former manager Sam Lutfi, and her ex BF Adnan Ghalib were all slapped with three-year restraining orders keeping them away from the singer and her family. The three were also ordered to pay court costs the Spears team incurred obtaining the orders. 

Eardley objects to being lumped together with Brit’s former manager Sam Lutfi, stating, “The court will recall that the bulk of the witnesses were called with respect to Lutfi. The investigation substantially focused on Mr. Lutfi.”

A hearing is scheduled for May 29. Will Eardley have the legal savvy to stand up to the Spears conservatorship? 

Former Britney Spears manager Sam Lutfi has already been handed a three-year restraining order—now he may get stuck with the bill for it.

According to People, the legal team representing Spears’ conservatorship wants shady Sam to pay $123,142 for their fees in obtaining the restraining order. The legal eagles also are looking for $129,922 from attorney Jon Eardley and $72,292 from Britney’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, both of whom are also under restraining orders.

It looks like challenging Papa Spears’ authority gets more expensive all the time.

Former Britney Spears manager Sam Lutfi will get his day in court—but not until next year.

AFP reports Lutfi has been given a March 8, 2010 trial date in his suit against the Spears family, which alleges defamation, assault and breach of contract. Lutfi charges Britney’s parents Jamie and Lynne Spears “began a campaign of slander, libel and defamation aimed at discrediting, destroying and physically and emotionally intimidating Lutfi in order to drive him out of Britney’s life.”

The Spears family may file a countersuit. They have already obtained a permanent restraining order which prohibits Lutfi from coming within 100 yards of the pop star, her kids or her parents.

It wasn’t hard to see this one coming. Britney Spears can expect a big bill from her legal team again this month.

TMZ reports that Brit’s former manager Sam Lutfi has filed an appeal against the permanent restraining order granted earlier this week. Requested by Britney’s father Jamie Spears and the conservatorship that governs the singer’s affairs, the order prevents Lutfi from making any contact with his former client or her two children for three years.

So why is Sam protesting this now, when he couldn’t be bothered to show up in court to defend himself during the hearing?

Lutfi’s lawyer Bryan Freedman told TMZ, “Never before in the history of the world has a restraining order been granted as a result of someone answering someone else’s cries for help. The evidence showed it was Britney Spears reaching out to Mr. Lutfi and all he did was help her get a lawyer.”

Britney Spears’ former manager won’t be calling to discuss business anytime soon—like for the next three years.

TMZ reports the conservatorship that runs Britney’s life has been granted a permanent restraining order against Sam Lutfi and attorney Jon Eardley. The orders are in place until April 28, 2012, and prohibit the two men from coming within 100 yards of Britney or her sons and include her home and any workplace, plus the home of her ex Kevin Federline.

So why weren’t Lutfi and Eardley in court today to plead their cases? Did someone scare them off?

Britney Spears is done with Sam Lutfi, according to her court-appointed attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III. According to Ingham, Brit’s father will not seek an extension on the restraining order against the singer’s former pal/manager. “Britney has made clear to everyone that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama ‘Sam’ Lutfi, now or at anytime in the future,” Ingham said in a statement to the Associated Press. Jamie Spears and Sam Lutfi’s lawyers were due in court today for a hearing regarding the restraining order, which has been in place since February. Fortunately, Sam and Britney have privately agreed that no hearing or order is necessary at this time. Britney and Jamie’s lawyers are still due in court today regarding the temporary conservatorship. I’ll post more updates regarding that as they come.

Even though he has agreed to the restraining order against him being extended for another month, Sam Lutfi is not through fighting. He’s been absent from the media but I guess we haven’t heard the last from Sam. He filed papers last Friday objecting to the Superior Court commissioner assigned to Britney’s conservatorship case. His one-sentence filing said: “Please take notice that Osama “Sam” Lutfi will not stipulate to the above-referenced case being heard by Reva Goetz, commissioner presiding, to whom the above-entitled case has been assigned.” Lutfi signed the document and indicated he was representing himself. The papers did not reach the courtroom in time for Monday’s hearing. Sam can go back to court on April 16 (when his restraining order expires) and ask for a judge to be reassigned to the case. And yes, he can do this. All parties in a case have to agree to the commissioner hearing the case.

Even though he’s been quiet the last few weeks, we all knew that Sam Lutfi was not going to go away without a fight. Sam was served a restraining order requested by Britney’s parents, Jamie and Lynne. Lynne claims that Sam drugged Britney to try to control her. Sam denies all accusations and does not agree with the restraining order. He will have his chance to overturn the restraining order on March 17. News of the World reports that Sam has tried to get in contact with Britney via a third party and will ask that the singer become a witness for him. This story is not over by a longshot, so we’ll have to wait until the 17th to see what happens with Sam.

LAPD confirmed today that their Robbery Homicide division is conducting an investigation regarding reports that Brit was drugged. Here is what LAPD Captain Kyle Jackson had to say:

“The issues regarding Britney Spears are being considered by the department to determine if laws have been violated. Particular suspects have not yet been fully identified nor has a formal investigation into open charges officially commenced. At this time we don’t know whether or not a formal investigation will be initiated.”

He didn’t mention any names in this statement, but we all know that he’s talking about Sam Lutfi. We’ll definitely give you more updates on the investigation as soon as we get them. I can’t even keep up with all the legal stuff related to Britney and this is just one more to add to the list.  

According to a close family source, Britney’s mom and dad are both extremely relieved and happy that Sam Lutfi was finally served his restraining order. A judge also extended the restraining order until March 17, when the hearing is scheduled. Also in other Britney news, there were reports last night that Adnan was caught going on a date behind Britney’s back. Well, the woman Adnan was out to dinner with last night is none other than his business partner. I hope Brit didn’t believe all the rumors. It really is hard dating in the public eye, isn’t it?

Osama Lutfi finally came out of hiding today, exactly one day after the restraining order that Jaime Spears had issued against him expired. I’m not sure where Sam has been hiding himself but from the sound of it, he knew exactly when he could step out in public. Sam was served outside his West L.A. home today in the early afternoon. Despite the restraining order being expired, he can be considered served until updated papers can be issued. Or so I’m told. Any lawyers out there care to comment? But yes, we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing if Sneaky Sam attempts to come near Britney, he can be arrested.

This is interesting news. TMZ.com is reporting tonight that Sam Lutfi is being investigated by the LAPD. There is an active investigation being conducted by the Major Crimes Division on whether or not Sam drugged Britney Spears. Claims made by Jamie and Lynne Spears that Sam used drugs to control their daughter were not made in vain, I guess. The LAPD was listening after all. Also, the restraining order filed by the Spears against Sam has not been served. Sam’s been very good about dodging being served, I guess, or the folks serving it totally suck at their job. Anyway, there will definitely be more updates on these stories in the next week or so, so stay tuned.

There’s one thing you can say about Sam Lutfi – he doesn’t give up very easily. Still under restriction from being within 250 yards of his “ex-client” Britney Spears, Sam fired back today by hiring a media consultant. And not just any other media consultant, but Michael Sands, who also worked with K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan. Geez, are there not any other media consultants for Sam to hire? And why does he need a media consultant? Sam has had trouble with the law in the past, including the now known story involving his old friend Danny Haines. Danny also had a restraining order against Sam just last April, but he’s not the only one who’s had problems with Brit’s old shadow. In October 2004 an old neighbor, Mark David Snoland, also petitioned a restraining order against Sam for physically threatening him and his mother at their condominium complex. And a businesswoman, Jumana Issa, also filed a complaint in October 2005 against Sam. She accused him of antagonizing her with obscene emails, faxes and late night phone calls. I’m sure Sam has his side to tell regarding Britney and possibly these other negative accounts. I suppose that’s why he hired a media consultant. Still, wouldn’t it be in his best interest to just obey the law and leave Britney alone? Then again, if you were once Brit’s roommate in that plush mansion, I guess you’d do all you can to stay in the house. Sam’s definitely not going down without a fight, unfortunately.

I have never seen an actual restraining order but have always assumed it’s a piece of paper (colored yellow, don’t ask me why) signed by a judge. When I heard about the eleven page restraining order Brit’s parents filed against Sam Lutfi, I was a bit shocked. Eleven pages? Really? Well, it is a very detailed one. Sam has to stay 250 yards away from Britney, her homes, her children’s homes, the hospital she’s in, etc. The restraining order also details the complaints Jamie and Lynne Spears have regarding Sam. It stated that Sam moved into Brit’s home last October, cut off her home phone lines, and has tried to control her finances and career. It also states that he drugged Britney. It basically paints Sam as an abusive and destructive leech, but in better written sentences. The hearing regarding the restraining order is set for February 22. I guess that’s when Sam gets his day in court. With all this drama going on in the “outside” world, Brit should definitely just stay where she is.

Update: So much for reports that Sam’s the only one who can see Britney in the hospital. Sources have confirmed that Brit’s parents now have a restraining order in effect for 22 days against Sam Lutfi. That’s right – Sam cannot go near Britney. He can’t visit her in the hospital, nor can he go to her house (where he’s been staying). I wonder how he’s handling this news. I’m sure he’ll be talking to all the media outlets today to complain about this. Britney’s dad and a lawyer were awarded temporary conservatorship over Brit’s estate today. They’re due back in court February 4 for another hearing. More updates to follow.

There’s been reports floating around that Sam Lutfi is the only one that’s been allowed to see Britney. He’s been photographed taking food in to the hospital and he’s also been telling anyone who will listen that Britney does not want to see her own parents. But we’ve also learned that this is all a very clever lie. Sam has NOT been allowed to see Britney NOR has Britney denied her parents. The hospital is under strict orders from Britney’s brother Bryan to not allow Sam access to Britney. For some reason, Sam is more concerned with public perception rather than reality. I believe it was Shakespeare who said, “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”

Or at least he’d like to think so. TMZ is reporting that Sam Lutfi, Brit’s very dependable shadow, contacted their very own Harvey Levin to complain about stories showing Sam in a not-so-postive light on their website. First Barbara Walters and now Harvey Levin. At least he likes to keep in touch with the media. Sam, apparently, is not very happy that Brit’s parents “barged in” at Britney’s house last night. Okay, first of all, as annoying as some family members can be, they’re probably the only people in the world who can barge into someone’s home. And that goes for everyone on earth and not just Britney. Sam is not a member of her family, yet he still sticks around like white on rice. TMZ is reporting that both Lynne and Jamie Spears are not very fond of Sam, but unfortunately Britney still keeps him around. I have no idea what magic potion he had Britney drink, but it seems to have taken its effect. She’s still under his weird spell and I’m hoping her mom has some Louisiana cure-all to fix it!

Just another quick update for y’all. Britney Spears has just left her house and headed over to Ralphs grocery store. She’s still inside the grocery chain and she is alone. No word on what she’s buying in there, but if it’s some alone time Brit needs, well then I guess grocery shopping could be used as therapy. Cops were called in to her house earlier in the evening, but they left right after a quick look-through the area. I like that Brit went to Ralphs by herself and not with Sam or even Adnan. I have nothing against Adnan – like Ronnie I’ve met him a few times and he’s generally a good guy. But I think Britney really needs to start thinking for herself and not listen to outsiders. At the very least, she needs to go to her family for some guidance, namely her mother. Anyway, we’ll have more updates for y’all as they arise. For now, Brit’s inside a Ralphs and is probably getting a chocolate fix.
