Poor Jessica Simpson—first her career goes south, now another romance has hit the rocks.

Simpson was planning an adorable “Barbie & Ken” themed party for her 29th birthday Friday, but was left to eat her cake alone when beau Tony Romo dumped her the day before. Gee, couldn’t he have at least waited until Monday? Is he too cheap to buy her a present?

A source told E! News that, “She was caught off guard,” and had been hoping to move into Tony’s Dallas digs in time for the fall football season. Instead, she’s licking her wounds in private with her family, while Tony’s been out carousing with his posse.

Maybe Simpson and her ex Nick Lachey can console each other, since he’s single again, too. They can’t mess things up any worse than they did the first time—can they?

The National Enquirer claims Jess has been partying it up since the end of her tour opening for Rascal Flatts—and BF Tony Romo wants her to straighten up. An insider blabbed, “Tony is fed up. She’s been pressuring him to marry her and have children, but he’s giving her a firm ‘no’ until she cleans up her act.”

Hey, cut her some slack, man. She’s lost her Nashville label and her movies are going straight to DVD—maybe she’s drinking to forget. Most country fans have already forgotten that album she released last year.

The tabs have been buzzing that Papa Joe Simpson wants to break up daughter Jessica’s romance with Dallas Cowboy QB Tony Romo, but Big Daddy took to his  Twitter to say it’s not so.

The senior Simpson posted two messages, one saying, “So tired of people saying I don’t like jess and tony… He is the best… Don’t believe the national enquirer!!!” He later Tweeted, “Just to clear things up. All lies. I love Tony!!!”

We bet you do! For a Texan, marrying your daughter off to a Dallas Cowboy is like winning the lottery. As Jessica’s career options dwindle, another high-profile marriage could get her a more positive image—the kind she needs to sell all that stuff she has her name on.

Footballer Tony Romo and potential daddy-in-law Joe Simpson did a little male bonding on the golf course yesterday at a Studio CIty, CA, country club.

Anyway, we caught up with Tony and Joe on the links and I’ve got to say, Tony actually has pretty good form. If you pay close attention, it looks like he’s favoring his left arm at times. Afterwards, Tony and Joe are done, Tony gets Jessica’s little sister Ashlee Simpson’s ex boyfriend Ryan Cabrerra to caddy his bags to his car before Tony and Ryan play some tennis. It’s not close enough to the Super Bowl for me to pay attention to football yet, but I’m assuming the Cowboys didn’t make the playoffs this year, otherwise, Tony probably wouldn’t be on the greens.

We hope Tony Romo is getting some TLC from GF Jessica Simpson today. On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback collapsed in the shower after his team suffered a bruising 44-6 defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles—the worst loss in Cowboys history. Romo managed to get up and walk to the post-game press conference on his own but had to be helped to the podium. ESPN reports the QB may have suffered a rib injury. This was the final game of the regular season, so Romo should be able to get in some R&R in the near future.

We don’t know exactly what he saved her from, but Jessica Simpson says in the new Cosmopolitan:

“I’d always fall for guys I wanted to save. For the first time, I fell in love with someone who saved me.”

That’s sweet, Jessica, but considering the way your last few movies bombed, maybe it’s time to look for someone to save your career.

Look out Tony Romo—Jessica Simpson has marriage on her mind. She told Cosmopolitan:

“Any person who I’m going to date for longer than siz months, definitely I am investing in something long term. If I get married again, then it will be the last time.”

Jessica Simpson’s date with Tony Romo got cancelled last night—but not because the couple is having problems. Tony was hoping for a romantic date in Nashville but duty called and Jessica insisted on flying to NYC for the 150th anniversary party of Macy’s, the department store that carries her line of clothing and accessories. But the weather delayed her flight so she made it to the party only at the very end. Oh, well—maybe Jessica has a special surprise in store for Tony to make it up to him. 

Tony Romo wants to make it clear that he does not dislikes Jessica Simpson’s dad, Joe. He recently spoke to People magazine and told them that all the reports in the media are “laughable”. Tony has spent a lot of time with Jessica’s family and it sounds like they’ve done a lot of bonding. Tony’s dad also seemed to enjoy the Simpsons’ company. The quarterback’s father actually went to a golf tournament with Jessica’s dad and they had a blast together. This definitely sounds like they’re far from breaking up. If their dads are hanging out with each other, then this might be something serious. Right? Right. Good times for Jess.

Tony Romo should just get Joe Simpson season tickets to Dallas Cowboys games and maybe he’ll leave him alone. You’d think he was the one dating the quarterback. Usmagazine.com is reporting that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are back together again, on one condition – that Jessica’s dad leaves them alone. One of Tony’s pals from his college days told the Chicago Sun Times that Tony doesn’t want Joe nosing around in his relationship with Jess. ”He did agree to go to [Ashlee's] wedding — keeping his promise to Jessica,” Tony’s pal told the newspaper. ”But he made it super-clear that if they were to give it another go, her dad had to seriously back off.” I guess Joe’s having a hard time not managing anything concerning her daughter/s. Tony also told his pal that his and Jess’ relationship is on a “trial run”. Well, let’s hope daddy Simpson stays away this time around, for Jessica’s sake.

It was quite a weekend for the Simpson family. Ashlee Simpson married Pete Wentz on Saturday at Ash’s parents’ home in Encino. Jessica was Ashlee’s maid of honor and she brought along Tony Romo as her date. People.com is reporting that the two were very affectionate during the wedding. Jessica and Tony also had a sushi dinner on Friday night together. Amidst news of a breakup, it was reported that Joe Simpson asked Tony to come to the wedding to support the family. If I were Tony and I just broke up with Jessica, I wouldn’t attend her sister’s wedding. Usually you stay as far away as you can from someone you just broke up with. I don’t believe the breakup rumors at all, but your guess is as good as mine. Jessica and her parents left for Cabo San Lucas for a little vacay right after Ashlee’s wedding. No, Tony Romo didn’t come, but maybe he was just busy.

Now all of Dallas and Cowboy fans everywhere can collectively breathe a sigh of relief. Actually, Tony Romo can now choke on his own, without Jessica to blame. It’s official according to Us Magazine – Tony and Jessica have called it quits. The magazine is reporting that Tony dumped Jessica and she’s upset about it (duh). A source close to Jessica told the magazine that Jess couldn’t handle the Jon Mayer/Jennifer Aniston hook-up and Tony couldn’t take it anymore. Who knew Jessica was so into John? Anyway, Tony and Jessica have reportedly broken up before, so there’s a chance they’ll get back together. Joy to the world.

Are Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson no longer on the love train together? Our Chicago folks are telling us that Tony recently spent some time partying it up in the Windy City, sans Jessica Simpson. Tony was at the Cubs game last weekend and even got up to sing an amateur rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” for the fans at Wrigley Field. Our sources say that Tony spent some time with his old college friends (he went to Eastern Illinois) and told one of them that he and Jessica have broken up. Could it be? Well, who’s she going to take to Ashlee’s wedding? I don’t know whether to believe this or not since the two have been together a lot lately. Jessica seems very enamored with him, so I feel bad for her if they really have broken up. Go talk to your man, Jess!

I seriously doubt this is true, but who knows these days. Star Magazine is claiming that Jessica Simpson’s recent hospitalization was not due to an infection, as originally reported. The magazine is reporting that Jessica actually drank her way to the hospital. Yes, they’re saying Jess had a lush moment. Apparently, the starlet has been partying and drinking way too much with her boyfriend Tony Romo. Months of binge drinking caught up to her and she was hospitalized. She was reportedly treated for kidney infection, urinary tract infection and bladder infection. I guess it’s up to you which story you want to believe, but if any Simpson should not be drinking, I think it’s safe to say that it should be Ashlee.

Jessica Simpson took her man Tony Romo out to one of her favorite eateries, The Waverly Inn, tonight. Jessica was also in town to support her man at the Fearless Male awards held earlier today. We suspect that she is trying to get some last minute canoodling done before she hits the road for her concert to support our troops in Iraq on March 10th . Awww… Look at these pics! Doesn’t she look amazing! She had almost no make-up on at all. Don’t you just love a girl that is au natural?

If Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo got engaged, they can always have a double-wedding with the president’s daughter. Usmagazine.com is reporting that Tony may be more serious about Jessica that we all thought. This is true, actually. I thought they were just dating and having a good time. Anyway, Tony’s friend Michael Starr tells the magazine that he thinks the couple is going to get married. Oh, boy. Papa Joe Simpson would be so happy about this! His little girl who was born in Texas marrying the Dallas Cowboy quarterback? What a celebration that would be, eh? Of course, the two haven’t been dating that long, but they are spending quite a lot of time together. I do think Jess is better suited with Tony than John Mayer. Let’s not jinx it for the couple, though. Just go with the flow, Jessica. Go with the flow.

Seriously, citizens of Dallas, can you just get over it? I mean, you have a great basketball team to root for. They’re doing pretty well and I think they’re in first place of their division right now. So why not just leave Jessica Simpson alone? She didn’t attend last Sunday’s game when Dallas got a whoop-ass kickin’ from the New York Giants. Granted, I rooted for the Giants, so I wasn’t too disappointed by the end result. Is anyone bothering Giselle Bundchen because she’s dating Tom Brady? Okay, that’s a bad example because Tom and the New England Patriots are undefeated so far this season. At any rate, Jessica didn’t do anything to Tony Romo. The Giants simply beat the Cowboys. It’s really that simple. All the bookies and bet makers in Vegas were wondering what she would do and now they have their answer. Jessica Simpson is not going to attend boyfriend Tony Romo’s game this Sunday. His Dallas Cowboys will be facing the New York Giants for a NFC playoff game and this is a huge one for the team. Her rep told Us Magazine that she will not attend because she’s working on a new album, but I really doubt that. She’ll be at home watching her man on the big screen hopefully scoring some touchdowns. Whether or not Jessica attended the game was actually a big deal for some people. This may just be a football game for most folks, but there are people out there who bet big bucks on these match-ups. And as a gambler, I know that my fellow bettors are superstitious.
