Will’s A Winner At The Box Office

Will Smith’s the guy who gets the party started for movie theater owners, who have voted him their top star for 2008. Smith is only the second black actor to take the top prize in the Quigley poll, the other being Sidney Poitier in 1968. Smith starred in the summer blockbuster “Hancock,” which grossed $228 million and the current “Seven Pounds.”
Following Smith in the top ten were Robert Downey Jr., Christian Bale, Shia LaBeouf, Harrison Ford, Adam Sandler, Reese Witherspoon, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Daniel Craig.
Missing from the top ten this year are last year’s winner Johnny Depp, who did not have a film released this year, and Tom Cruise, who did.
Will Smith’s Son Set To Be “Karate Kid”

Despite denials last year, Will Smith confirmed to Variety that his son Jaden will star in a remake of the 1984 hit “The Karate Kid.” Jerry Weintraub, who produced the original, is back on board while Will Smith is a co-producer. 10-year-old Jaden made his film debut alongside his dad in “The Pursuit of Happyness.” Wonder who will play his mentor in the film?

Will Smith is making it known loud and clear that he’s not a Scientologist. Although both he and wife Jada are very close with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Will states that he is not a member of the Church of Scientology. Rumors have been circling lately about the actor’s involvement in the church because of his close friendship with the Cruises. The couples double dated just last week at Cut restaurant and have been known to mingle in the same circles. Will tells the New York Daily News: “You don’t have to be Jewish to be a friend of Steven Spielberg…and you don’t have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise.” Fair enough. But don’t think Tom’s not trying to get you in those gates, Will!

Well last night was exciting for two couples who have been seen, and seen, and seen together over the past 6 months. TomKat, and you know what we just realized, Will Smith and Jada don’t have a couple name! Well, for this blog we will call them “Sminkett.”
Anyway, they were coming from Cut in Beverly Hills, having a nice dinner filled with love, conspiracy, and scientology. Boy I would have loved to have been a fly on that salad. I can just imagine…maybe Will and Jada will rub some personality off on TomKat.
By the way we love his shirt; only funny man Will can get away with a shirt that says “Party Starter” in a five star establishment. For all you commenter’s drop us a line as to what you think the Smith/Pinkett celeb couple name should be.

Will Smith’s I Am Legend made a boat load of money this weekend, raking in $76 million at the box office and because of that, Sony’s decided to release a sneak peak trailer at Will Smith’s next movie, Hancock.
