Paparazzi 101 Part 3

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

We’ve reached the conclusion of our 3 part series, Paparazzi 101. I hope you guys had a good time catching a little slice of life we like to call our jobs. We’ve had a good time sharing with you and I hope we can do it again soon. So if you recall in our last episode Ulises did battle with a crazy, punch throwing Korean lady and she walked off with some pictures and a great story to share with her family. Who else will cross our heroes path before the day is over? I’ll give you a hint… it’s a hot Latina! Check out the video below and if you want to catch up on episodes 1 and 2, check out the links below.

Ok, so she’s hot yeah but clearly she’s got no love for Ulises! And despite the TMZ reference, we still got love for our fellow 3-lettered gossip blog. If you want to see more of Paparazzi 101 in the future, drop me a line at ronnie[@]jfxonline.com and we’ll see what we can do. For now, I’ll just be happy if WB pictures finally believes we didn’t steal their footage.

Paparazzi 101 Part 1

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

This job can be boring sometimes and we try to make the most out of those situations by entertaining ourselves with what or whom ever’s around and every now and then it ends up being pretty funny. So we’ve put together three clips of our guys working on the Jim Carrey movie set from a couple weeks back… kind of a behind the scenes look at the paparazzi and how we do our job (if you didn’t catch the original story, you can check it out here). We’ve got the first clip for you below and we’ll be posting the other two over the next couple days so be sure to check back. Honestly, I must admit, I also have an ulterior motive for posting this video. It seems that our video from the original story was so good that Warner Bros. Pictures thought we stole it from one of their cameras and so they had their lawyers send a threatening email to us. Thankfully, the guys working on the set were having some fun with their video camera and took this video to entertain themselves with and now we’re showing it to entertain you as well! And please WB, just enjoy the free early publicity.

So will the Korean lady come back with her camera? Will the man jump from the ledge or will Jim Carrey be able to save him? Who else can Ulises find to scare the crap out of? Find out the answers to these questions and more tomorrow when we post part 2 of Paparazzi 101!

Jim Carrey Does The Jumper Serenade

Jim Carrey and Luis Guzman on Yes Man set

We caught a great scene between Jim Carrey and Luis Guzmàn being filmed on the Los Angeles set of Yes Man yesterday. I’m not sure if this violates any union safety rules, but my hats off to Luis Guzmàn for standing on that ledge at least 60 feet up. I know he’s attached to the safety wire but screw that! I’d barely be able to handle peeking over that ledge for a couple seconds let alone step out that window and still be able to remember my lines. Either way, at least he’s got Jim Carrey singing an acoustic version of Third Eye Blind’s Jumper to comfort him. Check out the video below from the set to get a real perspective on just how high the two actors are.

WGA 1, Jim Carrey 0

The WGA took to the streets of Silver Lake to interrupt the Jim Carrey set of Yes Man and were successful in shutting production down for the day. The WGA has been invading movie and television sets throughout Southern California since the beginning of the strike shutting down several sets ranging from hours to days. I’ve hung out with the WGA on various sets and I’ve got to tell you, they are keeping their writing wits about them coming up with clever chants and sharing other humorous anecdotes to pass the time. Be sure to check out the ending of the video below to hear from a well heeled WGA supporter.
