It’s not unusual for a guy to become attached to his favorite jeans, but teen dream Zac Efron went the extra mile to break in a new pair. The Disney star told WWD that he wore his G-Star jeans constantly for two months to get that lived-in look.

“They’re my favorite jeans. I wore them all throughout ‘High School Musical 3.’ I even wore them hiking. You have to wear them everywhere to get them right.” Sure, the jeans look perfectly cool, but I hope Zac washed them a few times during the breaking-in period!

It looks like nothing comes between Zac Efron and his Calvins. The “High School Musical” star taped an episode of the HBO series “Entourage” on location at the Niketown store in Beverly Hills, CA.

Guest star Zac Efron and series regular Jeremy Piven hung out on the set of HBO’s “Entourage” earlier today. Some lucky fans got to snap their pix with the pair before they left the set in Beverly Hills, CA.

“Transformers” sexpot Megan Fox turns a mere 23 this month, but she finds guys her own age way too immature for her jaded tastes.

Fox told Elle, “I’ve lived the life of a 35-year-old since I was 18. I’m so suspicious of boys-slash-men. I just don’t like them or trust them.” Singled out for her disdain were teen heartthrobs Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron. “[Robert] and Zac — they’re just too pretty, with the big hair and the suits. And Rob is, what, 22? Zac is 21? That’s a joke.”

Bet there are plenty of girls her age (and younger) who’d like to be in on the “joke!”

He couldn’t top fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus’ total from last weekend, but Zac Efron ranked number one at the box office this week with “17 Again.”

The AP reports the film handily beat out Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck’s “State of Play” to rake in $24.1 million. This certainly bodes well for Zac’s future beyond Disney’s “High School Musical” franchise. 

Zac told USA Weekend, “I didn’t want to be famous. I get sick of seeing my own face around.” Hey, it’s better than scrounging for parts the way most actors his age are doing.

So how’s he coping? “I used to get so frustrated. For a while, I felt like I was completely lost in celebrity-land. I didn’t know how to handle it. Now I know that I have to plot where I’m going, when I’m going there and where the back entrance is. It’s like I’m playing a giant game of tag.”

Enjoy it while you can—you’ll only be “it” for so long.

Earlier this week, Disney heartthrob Zac Efron bailed from the remake of 80s hit film “Footloose” in order to concentrate on meatier parts. Now he seems to have gotten his wish.

Variety reports Efron is in talks with director Burr Steers about a role in “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.” Steers previously directed the “High School Musical” star in “17 Again.” Variety states the film is taken from a book “about a caretaker at a cemetery who manages to have weekly meetings with a younger brother whose accidental death he feels was his fault.”

Meanwhile, Efron can be seen in “17 Again” when it debuts April 17. It takes guts for a teen idol to risk re-inventing himself as an adult star. Let’s hope Zac’s risk pays off.

When does casting become type-casting? Zac Efron seemed to be the perfect choice to step into Kevin Bacon’s dancing shoes in a remake of the 80s hit “Footloose” but now the Disney teen idol has developed cold feet.

RadarOnline reports Efron has pulled out of the Paramount project after rejecting the most recent re-write of the screenplay. A member of the production team stated, “People had been working on this project since last July. We were all shocked.”

Word has it, Efron is afraid another musical role will kill his chances for more mainstream roles. But will he get offered those dramatic parts he craves after making his name in Disney films? Only time will tell.

It was a perfect top-down day Thursday as Disney stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens went for a drive around Hollywood, CA, with Zac in the driver’s seat of her sporty Audi convertible.

Are there wedding bells in the future for “High School Musical” couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens?  The National Enquirer has reported Efron proposed last month while the pair were on a trip to Japan together, and a source told DigitalSpy:

“Zac is relieved to be out of the pressure cooker, because Vanessa’s mother has been putting serious heat on him to make an honest woman out of her daughter. She is old-school and doesn’t approve of Vanessa living with Zac without some type of wedding promise.”

If it’s true, good luck, guys! You sure make a cute couple. Although I’m sure this will break the hearts of millions of tweens who are dreaming of marrying Zac when they grow up!

Zac Efron wowed fans with his style as the dapper Disney dreamboat arrived at this weekend’s CAA pre-Golden Globes party in Santa Monica. With some older stars showing up for this bash looking like they fell out of bed, it’s cool to see a young actor who looks like a real movie star.

If anyone knows how to transition from teen idol to major movie star, it’s Leonardo DiCaprio. Ten years ago, he made a generation of young girls swoon in “Titanic.” Today, he’s a respected leading man. So who better to advise current teen dream Zac Efron on career longevity? Leo told E! News, ”The flashbulbs, the interviews, all that stuff won’t amount to anything unless you create a body of work that people want to see.”

I think that’s a polite way of saying, “Don’t do any more ‘High School Musicals.’” Let’s hope that script he’s carrying can contribute to his “body of work.”

Disney starlet Vanessa Hudgens recently purchased a new pad and her guy Zac Efron helped her decorate it in style. The Star is reporting he bought his lady a vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunk for a cool $50,000. A source stated:

“Vanessa loves Louis Vuitton but she wouldn’t spend the money for it.”

Zac sounds like the kind of boyfriend every luxury-loving girl should have!

Fresh from the success of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” Zac Efron and director Kenny Ortega are preparing to begin shooting on the remake of ’80’s hit “Footloose” for Paramount in spring 2009. Zac’s expected to be getting a seven-figure-salary and script approval. Looks like Zac’s vreaking out of the Mouse House and into the big time.

Disney power couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens finally exchange a chaste smooch in their new film “High School Musican 3: Senior Year” but there has to be more than that going on in their real-life relationship, right? On the episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” airing Friday, the host pushed Vanessa to reveal her co-star’s prowess at locking lips. “He’s a good kisser, I assume,” she asked. As Hudgens tried to dodge the subject, DeGeneres pushed, “Well, you’ve got to say yes!” Hudgens finally answered, “OK, yes, fine.” C’mon girl—can’t you get more enthusiastic than that?

Or at least the wax version of him. High School Musical star Zac Efron has recently been immortalized in wax by the famous Madame Tussaud’s in Vegas. Now you can go and view his holy waxiness anytime you want and don’t worry, there isn’t a Vanessa Hudgens there to distract him. Actually, it is kind of creepy how lifelike they make these. Reports of dreamboat Zac Efron taking over Orlando Bloom’s role in the next “Pirates of the Caribbean” film have proved to be, alas, premature. Zac was on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show today to promote “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” when he told the host, “Honestly, at this time it’s just a rumor.” He added, “I wish I was going to be in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4,’ so hopefully that will happen for me.” Given that he’s the hottest teen heartthrob around these days, and both “HSM” and “Pirates” are Disney franchises, it just might.

Vanessa Hudgens’ favorite dude, Zac Efron, was spotted leaving a Hollywood Hills home yesterday. The High School Musical star came in empty handed but left out with a signed photo and a blue sack. What’s in the sack, Zac? Yes, we’re super nosy today. Must be the Tuesday air. Actually, word on the street is that Zac’s planning a move, so maybe he’s just house hunting. Clad in a New York Love t-shirt and a beanie, the hunky teen also looked very much like Jared Leto. Seriously, those two can look like brothers. They should do a movie together.
